Jordan is a semi-arid country with a population of 11.5 million, making it the eleventh-most populous Arab country. The dominant majority, or around 95% of the country's population, is Sunni Muslim. It has been home to some of mankind's earliest settlements and villages, and relics of many of the world's great civilizations can still be seen today.
